I wanted to post something new. I came across this image and it struck me in two ways.

The first. This was one tough photo to take for various reasons. It was dark. It was raining. The model T was moving. We were using off camera lighting so Henderson and I were both running with the car. Plus, I’m having to find focus and frame the shot. And my phone was ringing because the coordinator was saying the reception would start in 5 minutes.

The second. The grandfather driving really grabbed my attention. I wish I could have taken one photograph of my grandfather. Just one. Or have my grandfather at my wedding driving me in his Model T… Priceless!

So we were out there shooting the impossible in hard conditions. I knew one day though, this would have even more meaning than a wedding day photograph…

And here’s my own grandfather and grandmother. They were farmers in the South. This was taken well before I was born but has always been one of my favorites.

I have the feeling that putting up The Simpsons on my blog probably isn’t the most marketable thing to do . So I’ll leave a cool image I took on Saturday. I love the details! Should have some 35ft sailboat wedding photographs coming up soon as well. That’s right! Rocking!

On a side note, apparently there are Bart Simpson stamps now. That gives me an idea for my next blog posting………

I’ve got a video shoot coming up this friday…..so that’s going to be interesting………it’s been rescheduled because of the weather about 4 times……should be a lot of fun……just hope it doesn’t confuse people when they see a video up on my blog……..

The story of these guys are great….they actually dated in high school and rediscovered each other 10 years later…..

So I’m sitting in Tanya’s living room and she pulls out these really cool fully customized Chuck Taylors with her wedding date on them.  They were super cool and definitely different.  Apparently they are fully customizable…..so i’m waiting on the black and red ‘Ash Little Photography’ editions with the converse logo removed and big A on the side!

Scoped out the downtown area and found 9 locations for us to shoot the post ceremony shots.  So those are going to be blast!  Have 3 shoots lined up for Sunday Monday and Tuesday so checkkkkk back.

This converse shot was taken at 3200 ISO.  Unbelievable!

Old truck I found scouting….

Had a meeting today about a shoot next week.  It involves surfboards and bikinis so……should be a lot of fun…..look forward to warmer weather and a chance to shoot something with a commercial feel to it….

The shoots going to be using the surfboards from a local shop here called Salty’s on Harden Street.  They recently moved to a new building and it’s pretty incredible with the roof lighting that’s in it.

And man oh man…..the 5DII still amazes me…..1600 iso on this shot…..never would have went there in the past…..if you look a little harder you are going to be able to see a change this year in wedding photography……in low lighting that is……

This was actually about 13 stories high on a high rise in Columbia.  It should be out in March.

I shot William the professional poker player.  We had a lot of cool shots…the editor(Mark Pointer) chose this one because of the freeze frame of the Aces.  It was quite a lucky capture.  William worked it perfectly.

Also did the Rosso restaurant shoot.  That place is really nice….they should be opening soon.  What I did there was actually take 4 different photos and stitched them together.  I think Mark Pointer did a good job with the layout since it was such a wide shot.

Photographed Katie the bartender as well.  I believe her face was getting a little warm from the flame.

Also, did the car shots.  Was a little restricted shooting in a parking lot last minute.  Hoping it I get lot more flexibility on the next one.  I’ll post a few more later on.
