Whitney’s Vera Wang Wedding Dress

Tuesday, April 17th, 2012

Back in the fall I had the privilege of photographing Whitney’s bridal pictures. The bridal session went absolutely amazing! Whitney was a little nervous but after a snapping a few pics to break the ice we were able to get some timeless images. She even picked my favorite for her bridal portrait which is a little further in the post.

You would think this girl has modeled before with that pose.

She even designed her own bouquet out of antique brooches. She’s quite a talented graphic designer and created her own wedding invitations, as well, which was one step past awesome!

This next pic was definitely my favorite! The one underneath was amazing, also.

I really enjoy shooting bridal sessions and getting to know the bride and her family better. I enjoy making the bride the center of attention and more comfortable in front of the camera. Finding the perfect locations is always a lot of fun and a big part in the bridal session process.

Here’s Whitney with her mom and twin sister.

We actually took these shots at an area where they are developing/building a housing community. I go by the place all time when I run at the dam out in Lexington, SC. It’s probably one of my favorite places to run. Here’s a picture I took with my iPhone one day at sunset during one of those runs.

Carly Bridal

I’ve done a really terrible job at blogging lately. I blame the busy spring for me getting behind. I’ve shot a lot of weddings in 4 different states that I can’t wait to share. I spent most of my August away freshening up for a fun and cooler second half of the year. Please check back shortly to be mindblown with some incredible new work! That is a promise! Here’s Carly’s bridal that has been sitting in my publish folder for the past two months. We were actually attacked by the goose in the photos. Totally worth it for the amazing places we were able to shoot!

Kristin at Lowndes Grove

Tuesday, June 14th, 2011

A few weeks before Kristin’s wedding we had her bridal session at the historic Lowndes Grove Plantation in Charleston. The house is pretty amazing. It sits along the bank of the Ashley River and as far as I know it’s the only plantation home on the main peninsula. There’s a lot of rich history that dates back to the Revolutionary War. Patrick Properties did a good job renovating the house a few years ago. It’s really an outstanding venue.

Even more breathtaking was Kristin and her dress from Ulla-Maija. It’s definitely one of my favorite dresses. I’m not ashamed to say I’m big on the dress, the engagement ring, and the hair. I can’t put photography in the argument since my opinion is a little biased.

Check back soon for photos from Kristin and Jason’s wedding and reception that was at this same location.
