Thought I would add something a little different. Above is a Mp3 player if you want to hit play to listen to some tunes as you view pictures. Just to warn you, about 3:30 in she starts screaming a little. This song came on while I was editing the photos and it kind of stuck in my head. I always listen to music while processing pics because it gets my creative juices flowing. After the photo shoot, we all went to dinner and talked a little about TV shows so i figured the song fit.
I love downtown Charlotte. There’s no place quite like it, in my opinion. I’ve had a lot crazy experiences there including when I bought Panther tickets that did not match. I actually had to turn into a scalper – resell the tickets – and bought new ones. I was sitting in the end zone before it was over and ended up on the big screen!
Me risking my life to get a great photo!
I went a little more retro with this engagement shoot and I really love the feel of it.
I have flowers in the back of my condo that are still blooming. It’s December!?!?!
A silhouetted shot of the queen city. I think Charlotte’s skyline is one of the best!
These guys are actually getting married in Charleston. It’s at an incredible venue and I can’t wait to put the funk on it!
Danny is one tall guy. I’ve shot 3 guys in the last 6 months that have been around 6’5″.
I feel like my blog posts are turning into those VH1 pop up videos! A lot of sporadic information from one shot to the next. That’s how my mind works. I’m surprised I don’t have those little balloons that pop up over my head! Speaking of balloons, wait till you see my next blog post!
Ah….fall! It sure is nice to be outside taking photos and not sweating bullets!
Shot of Marilyn Monroe. I watched the Buddy Holly movie starring Gary Busey the other day which was a great movie! Gary Busey was actually nominated for Best Actor that year for it. Yeah, I was surprised myself.
One of the best things about 2009 is the great people I’ve met. I’ve always known I would create professional relationships with my clients while shooting their special day but never imagined that I would also make lasting friendships with them. All of my clients are awesome though, so I guess that’s going to be inevitable!
We finished up the shoot here, back to my roots where I took night shots back in 2006. It felt good to revisit the same location and put a different spin on it. I’ve learned a lot in the last three years and will continue to learn in this ever changing photography world!

[...] He pulls out a blue bag that has the infamous blue box in it. I think the photo on the lower right was my absolute favorite that day. So much emotion and excitement. Here’s the ring from Tiffanys she got as a gift. I also surprised them both with a bottle of Dom Perignon. My accountant told me about 5 minutes before I arrived I probably wouldn’t be able to write off the expense on my taxes. I figured as much. This is actually the second bottle I bought this year. The first bottle was when my friend Trey returned from Afganistan. I also punked the news into believing that the governor was about to step off the plane with his mistress. That’s another story though… I have to thank Lisa for the idea on the Dom P. She and Tillman were sipping on it at their wedding. We sat around and talked a few. I actually took their engagement photos back in the day as well(seen here). [...]
